Same trails, new signs

New rider or grizzled veteran, the most-complained about feature at Hartland is the same: lack of direction. While the mountain bike network at Mount Work benefits from high trail density through picture-perfect Island terrain, our trails can be difficult to navigate. That’s why we’re so excited to show off the new trail signs which are being installed throughout the park by CRD staff to help you find the line you’re looking for.

Planning for the new signage has been in the works for years, and we’d like to thank the CRD Visitor Services department for all the resources  that have been devoted to the project, and for closely collaborating with SIMBS representatives to ensure that the new signage meets the needs of riders. We have no doubt that they’ll be guiding generations of mountain bikers around our trail network for years to come, and with better visibility than the existing signs (or lack thereof…).

Sign installation is a work in progress, with non-signed trails prioritized at first. Keep an eye out for the new signs to pop up on your favourite trails over the coming months, and enjoy the new navigational clarity while you’re out on your less-visited trails!

We acknowledge with gratitude that we live and enjoy recreation on the unceded territories of the W̱SÁNEĆ People.
