Super Ran-D Tenner Recap

Another Super Ran-D Race for the books this December!

We brought back the another Super Ran-D race on December 6th to commemorate long-time Hartland trail builder Randy Tannock.

Riders kicked off the course seated on Randy's bench at the top of Middle Earth. Advanced riders dropped into a demanding lap that took them down 's 90's Jank, Diaphragm Connector, Little Face, and finished off at Plunge Extension. Intermediate riders started with Phase Two, Old Payoff, and Torpedo before rejoining the same Diaphragm Connecter finish as the Advanced category. Talk about gruelling!

Despite the intense winds the night prior, our community still showed up in full force to send it down this epic course. We had a great turn out of volunteers and riders and kicking off the day with some delicious Hullabaloo Coffee certainly helped!

It was especially meaningful to have members of Randy's family out cheering riders on and even taking part in the race themselves, with a few podium finishes which was truly amazing to see. The day wrapped up with a pizza après in the parking lot, where riders also took part in a raffler featuring some sweet prizes generously sponsored by Oak Bay Bikes.

We acknowledge and respect the W̱SÁNEĆ Peoples, on whose traditional territories we live, ride, and gather. We recognize their historic and ongoing relationship to these lands, and we are grateful to share in the places that nourish our bodies, minds, spirits, and community.
